INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVES & PARTNERS

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is honored to have formed many wonderful community-based partnerships over the past 85 years. Whether administering our Z-HOPE program or giving financial assistance through our National Educational Foundation, we do so with the understanding that service to the community is our greatest legacy.

ADOPT-A-SCHOOL

Zeta Phi Beta identifies low performing schools or schools in need of assistance and provides for them in a number of ways to enhance the educational experience, increase test scores and grades. Members purchase supplies and/or equipment, provide volunteer hours, assist with parent engagement programs and work with administrators to identify needs that may be specific to the particular school impacted.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY

CANCER PREVENTION AWARENESS

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.’s members and auxiliaries have been working with the American Cancer Society for over 15 years and has raised thousands towards the fight against breast cancer. Zeta’s partnership with the American Cancer Society aims to improve the health of African Americans and other constituents by motivating these communities to act in the fight against cancer and celebrate survivorship. The Sorority’s vision is to build upon a long-standing partnership with the ACS in: Promoting health equity, promoting cancer awareness, and fundraising towards cancer research and education while making a difference and touching lives.

AUTISM ACCEPTANCE PROGRAM

This program provides community, hope and financial resources to families affected by autism. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated builds awareness, strengthens advocacy and executes fundraising to support families of children with autism.

ELDER CARE INITIATIVE

We strive to provide education and awareness about preparing for your senior years. The African American community is least prepared when it comes to retirement, estate planning and understanding the legal and financial preparation needed to care for parents, grandparents and ultimately, for our own long term care. It is a comprehensive program that also focuses on elder abuse awareness, financial peace, supporting the caregiver and volunteering at senior care facilities.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION INITIATIVE

Survivors of domestic violence often flee abuse with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and often turn to local domestic violence programs for refuge. Most domestic violence organizations provide survivors everything they need to start over, from bedding and towels to toothbrushes and shampoo. Seen as basic items for some, donations such as these are essential in empowering women to begin their road to healthy relationships.

As community conscious and action-oriented women, we can use the collective force of the sorority to make a tremendous impact by meeting domestic violence survivors’ basic needs.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN OF COLOR

The International Women of Color programs incorporate activities impacting the mind (Promoting Literacy – books and educational supplies); the body (She Who Brings Water Brings Life Water Well, Well Maintenance Program); and the spirit (HIV/AIDS Poverty and Hunger: Food Baskets, Home Care Assistance: Medical Kits, and Violence Against Women: Emergency Accommodations and Shelter for Women and Children). The Sorority collaborates with women of color, agencies and organizations for economic viability, educational pursuits, and health and wellness to uplift and empower women globally to take an active role in their well-being.

MARCH OF DIMES - MARCH FOR BABIES, STORK’S NEST,

& PREMATURITY AWARENESS PROGRAM

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. recognizes clearly that in her 100 plus years of being community-conscious and action-oriented, we must continue to lead the way to end a difficult situation, task or be the solution to a challenging problem.

Together with the March of Dimes, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority recognizes that progress cannot be made in isolation and certainly by not standing still or going in reverse. With years of success and accomplishments, we continue to rise to the challenge to do one step better each year - one more dollar, one more visit to the NICU, one more opportunity to fight for birth equity.

MILITARY APPRECIATION PROGRAM

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated partners with organizations whose mission is to provide Women Veterans and Military Families with the tools they need to reintegrate and thrive in civilian life. One such partners is Women Veterans ROCK which is a Coalition of Women Veteran Organizations and Women Advocacy Organizations Supporting Women Veterans & Military Families in the Areas of: Housing; Employment; Education; Financial Stability; Health & Wellness.

SOCIAL ACTION - GET ENGAGED

Get Engaged was created as a way for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to take an active role to raise awareness on key issues in our community. The Get Engaged program a non-partisan program designed to inspire, encourage, engage and empower our communities to advocate for social justice and vote.

ZETA’S HOPE FOR ST. JUDE

Zeta’s HOPE for St. Jude is an outreach program designed to provide help and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Our children are our greatest resources; by investing in the health and welfare of our children, we are investing in our future. In 2013 our sorority developed a relationship with St. Jude, the hospital that creates more clinical trials for children’s cancer than any other hospital for children. The hospital recently opened a high-tech study called the Sickle Cell Clinical Research and Intervention Program (SCCRIP). Through education and fundraising, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated will collaborate with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to raise awareness for the treatment, prevention, and cures of pediatric cancers, as well as Sickle Cell, and thereby allowing St. Jude to continue providing high-quality treatment regardless of race, gender or religion at no cost to the families.
